While in our Snowbird home located in Hemet, CA, my husband fell and seriously injured his knee requiring him to be placed in a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) in December 2018.
When he was placed in the SNF, I contacted EA+ to find out if he was eligible to be transported back home. EA+ told me that he was and kept in contact with me, providing me with comfort and care until he was able to be moved in April 2019. This was the start of the pandemic, and facilities were being closed to incoming and outgoing patients.
A nurse from Boston flew to Palm Springs, CA and spent the night. Extremely early the next day, he arrived with a limo and, despite the sheriff who was in the process of locking down the facility, was able to have my husband released. The nurse transported my husband to LAX, assisted him in a wheelchair, and was able to fly with him back to Portland, OR. He was also able to secure another limo to bring him back to our home in Vancouver, WA. He helped my husband into the house and took his vital signs, assuring that he was well enough so that the nurse was able to return to Boston.
I have shared my story on countless occasions to fellow travelers encouraging them to contact EA+ for their amazing help. I also advise my traveling companions about my coverage so that if I run into any problems here, and abroad, they know who to contact first after calling 9-1-1.
